The Wave
A downloadable game
The sky turns red.
A distant hum becomes a maddening whine.
Something is coming. Get to shelter, quick!
A quick supplement for Vaults of Vaarn's Summer Jam, I wanted to adapt a niche concept I'm extremely fond of from a favorite game into something that can shake up your players' traversal of any science fantasy setting.
Inside you will find an existential threat to any party and a reason to explore the ruins of the world for answers.
Good for DMs who like to stress their players out during overland travel or people who just like cosmic levels of scientific peril.

I love the idea of this, definitely going to use this! Always wanted to have s.t.a.l.k.e.r emissions on the table! any idea on rules for finding cover quickly while outside a settlement during overland travel? I'm trying to think of like how to quickly figure where nearest shelter would be and how to have pc's get there without it being a sort of save or die type deal, drawing a blank. Regardless if you answer this, thanks for making this, it's really awesome.
hey thank you! honestly it will likely come down to a series of saves, but making it a puzzle to locate and successfully access shelter could be fun with a quick countdown.
Things to consider: the shelter may already be occupied and require diplomacy or violence to resolve who gets it. It could also be more of a logical puzzle to quickly break into something locked, or to construct something in short order.
I agree one save is a little droll, but a quick encounter with a ticking clock is sure to get the party thinking creatively
yoo awesome! thanks tons for the quick reply! The puzzle bit is a great idea, like trying to figure out how to break open a long forgotten shipping container that's gene locked to some hegemony dude or some shit. Very very cool, thanks again for making this!
